I agree. When ever so see an add which says in great condition, looks like new but untested, don't have any batteries. That means that it doesn't work.

Just had to share this one. I am constantly amused at some of the descriptions I see on eBay. Like "I don't have batteries to test it" or "light soiling adds to character". I just saw this one describing a Charlie Weaver up for auction, and in the picture his shirt was in bad shape:
"Charlie's shirt is somewhat funky - I'm not sure if the dirt on it is from the factory or elsewhere".
Amazing!
